The Difference between FBUS and USB Flashing
I gathered some info and ask some of my GSM friends..
Topic is all about flashing a NOKIA BB5 generation phones. What is the difference between flashing via USB and FBUS?
As Advance box release their ATF (Advance Turbo Flasher), their mostly good asset is the SPEED. Yes Speed! Speed flashing via FBUS.
USB FLASHING
* Usb Flashing updates only firmwares. Means Partial flashing or can be refurbished flashing, Was mentioned by x- shadow here.
* Usb Flashing doesn't touch the securities certificates like the HWC CCC NPC etc.
* It is confirmed that USB flashing can flash DEAD phones (software side).
* USB flashing is just a pure flashing, cannot back up RPL.
* It parsed the mcu in different locations, different area in erasing. Upgrading version will not erase phone data. This is nice when you have just to upgrade some new features in nokia like 5800 using 2nd camera feature.
FBUS Flashing
* FBUS is more faster than the USB (via ATF), thier secret we don't know, but probably because
Fbus flashing directly communicate with the flash Memory. Or they don't use smart card anymore they use
AES-128 protected FPGAs , some explanation here.
* Speedy FBUS flashing of ATF, secret maybe on its box or the chips they use. More higher speed can handle
and more phones can trigger into its best speed it can, plus the speed of your PC via USB 2.0.
* Fbus touches fully the securities of the phone. Full Flashing.
* Fbus can back up RPl, certificates, PM, etc. Can Diagnose any fault.
