This phone often got this problem as always encountered...

My solution.
Remove IC at the back of the keypad flex.

Thanks for the great solution! It worked for my spouse's N79. I've just brutally removed this IC using a knife and the keyboard hang problem gone.

yes that's right its a navi wheel controller..

First of all, solve your other thread in which you don't get latest firmware for your mobile. You can do hard format your mobile. For that, backup your mobile's contacts, messages, notes, calender and bookmarks via Nokia PC Suite backup utility. Don't backup anything else like settings or user files etc. Now backup your images, videos and music files using Windows Explorer. Now format your memory card and switch off your mobile. Now press and hold this 3 key "green call key, * and 3" together and switch on your mobile. Press and hold down that 3 button till country insertion dialogue appear. Now restore all your backup using PC Suite and explorer. This will solve your problem. Now install applications you like. Good luck...

that's not a solution, i tell you, phone will come back and same problem appear... that's the final solution.. no other way..

ReplyDeleteyou will need a hot air to rmove it, its for skilled person stuff never try it at home, you may damaged your phone.

ReplyDeleteYou'll need a HOT AIR Equipment to remove that. Try to bring it on a cellphone repair center and let them remove.
Yobbs you are a genuis. My N79 developed the freeze symtom and after removing the ic ship indicated (i ribbed it out of there, still cant believe this procedure worked with out major damage to my phone)my phone now works again. THANKS A MILL. :-)

hi, that ic controls the navigation function or the something like your navigation wheel, there is an option on your settings to disabled/enable it, however if you are not using this often, you can remove the IC to solve the problem or if you got parts to replace it then just do it.

I would say that it is SOFTWARE or HArdware problem, but before that can you give some history of the phone, like did you drop it? water damaged, or any situations that undergo before? Fist option I could advise is try to update your software first via NOKIA Updater, you can search my blog about it. Thanks.

ReplyDeletewell , the keypad is New by yesterday , ..... first the problem was : Camera button, was remained pushed/locked,(and keypad not work supouse to be that button guilty... )
ReplyDelete....after i repaired that button , nothing happened, keypad not answer any comand , then i removed IC from backside of keypad and result was to work only "Down" key.
So i buyed a new Keypad , i replaced , so ... it work only one key ---> "Down" key.. strange that ... when i press "down" heared one beep and after release the buton again one beep.. some sugestions?
